Nathan Verba is a Co-Lab Manager for the MAPT and EVIDENT-MAP studies under Dr. Rael Cahn and a Program Manager for the USC Center for Mindfulness Science. He graduated in 2025 with a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Pomona and Claremont McKenna College. As an undergraduate, he served as Data Analysis Lead in the Mechanisms of Interpersonal Communication (MIC) Lab under Dr. Shannon Burns, using fNIRS to study the neural correlates of empathy and shared experience, and completed a year-long experimental thesis on meditative interpersonal synchrony, prosociality, and self-referential processing. He also contributed to research on ayahuasca-assisted therapy for PTSD at Onaya Science, interned with Texans for Greater Mental Health analyzing state-level psychedelic policy reform, and supported student mental health as wellness coordinator at Village Academy High School’s Wellness Center. He founded Claremont PEACE, a psychedelic education and harm-reduction organization spanning the Claremont Colleges. His interests sit at the intersection of psychedelics, meditation, social connection, and human flourishing.
